Annoying Microsoft pop up

Recently on my iMac, at start up, I have been getting a message (top right of screen) about installing or dismissing a Microsoft update.

To the best of my knowledge, the only Windows related program on my Mac ia my genealogy software Ancestral Quest which uses Crossover to run on the Mac.

My 2 questions are:

A - Do I need to install it and

B - If not, how do I get rid of the pop up?

Thanks in advance

Ken

Hi,

The reason why I deleted it in the first place was that on many of the sites I used, I was blocked from the site because of it.

I could disable the ad blocker on individual sites but, against one click to dismiss the message each morning, that seems like overkill.

I am also a bit confused as to the connection with Safari as this only appears just after my initial log in, with no programs open.

It could be that my use of the phrase “pop up” intimated that it was happening whislt using a browser (if so, my apologies) whereas it is more a message that “pops ip”.
