I mac Ram is not booting, local Apple dealer says its RAM slot issue and I need to change the whole motherboard for more than half the price of the machine! Now this is happening to me for the first time , i have been a mac user for last 10 years or so. The repeated opening of the machine at the dealers has caused the glass screen to crack.
I was writing a book and the whole project is in soup now. plz help
Only you can decide how to proceed whether to proceed with repairs or replace or go another route; but as far as your data, if the only issues are indeed just RAM and display as you've outlined, odds should be that your data is intact & recoverable one way or another. Of course if you keep backups that's a whole lot easier to recover with.
So what do you want us to do?
We are users just like you. Apple is not here and you are not speaking to Apple here. We are sorry to hear your problem but there is nothing we can do to help. Either repair the computer or buy a new computer and restore your project files from your backups.
