What is the multiplication function called in numbers

I'm losing my mind! I am not a mathematician or even good at math which is why I use numbers for my invoices. I cannot find a formula for basic multiplication. Yes I know I can enter in every time manually but is there really not an pre-formatted formula for this basic math function!?! If there is can someone illuminate me on what it is called? I've literally been googling this stupid question for 15 minutes without results.

I am not sure what you mean by a formula for basic multiplication. You type = to start a formula, then tap the first cell (or type a number), then the Asterisk * then the second cell (or number).

Read the section in this web manualfor Numbers called "Calculations". It should explain everything you need to get started.

After reading that, you can look at some of the templates that come with numbers to see how many functions are used.
