Waveform pop-up disappeared from keyframe editor

Hi All,

I installed Motion 5 a few days ago and have been reading the manual, watching tutorials and working on my first project. I found instructions on displaying the audio waveform of a selected audio asset in the keyframe editor, and this has been very useful. Unfortunately today the waveform is gone, and so are the relevant icon and pop-up menu. Instead I see a small arrow with a pop-up menu that says Element 2 and Element 3 (well maybe it was here yesterday, I don't know).

How can I bring back this option?

Hold both the Command and Option keys together while launching Motion. When offered the opportunity during launch, chose to delete the preferences. It is a perfectly safe operation. See if that helps.

Hi again, the icon is back! It came back when I deleted the last clip I added yesterday. It's a video clip with no audio. And when I noticed that the waveform icon was back, I hit cmd-z to see if it would disappear again, but it stayed there.

Doesn't look like a normal behavior to me, but at least I got my waveform back.

If anybody knows how this happened and how I can avoid it in the future, I'll be grateful for some tips.

Hi,

MacBook Pro 2016 15 inches with touchbar, High Sierra

It happened again this morning when I opened my project. And again the waveform came back when I deleted a clip, then cancelled with cmd-z.
