Apple keeps declining my American Express Serve card

this has been going on since yesterday. I can’t update my apps and can’t download free apps. My card is active and has money on it. For a test I purchased something on amazon and it worked. My card has been working for months now and all of a sudden it decides to stop working and be declined for seemingly no reason.

Card being declined! Hey everyone, I just recently ran into an issue with apple. My master card keeps being declined and is always asking me to update my information or add a new payment method. I tried adding a new card but that too was declined. I tried updating my information but it either runs into a problem and asks me to try again later, or it will say declined. At first, I thought it was my card but the card is working fine and It is working fine with my apple wallet. I really don't know what the issue could be and am hoping someone could help me out. Thank you

See Payment methods that you can use with your Apple ID - Apple Support. Apple can change their list of acceptable financial institutions as they see fit.

Apple accepts American Express credit cards but not Serve because it's pre-paid. That's not considered a debit card.
