In latest apple motion, I have a cropped image set up for a drop zone. I can pan the dropped image, but cannot figure out how to add a keyframe for x or y panning, i.e. have the image pan within the cropped frame. any suggestions?
Keyframes for drop zone Pan and Scale are not allowed.
There are a number of workarounds, depending on what you need it to do. Perhaps the easiest is to Rig the parameters to slider widgets.
The most comprehensive solution is to use the Drop Zone in conjunction with a parent group set to 2D Fixed Resolution and set the Width and Height of the group to the size of the "viewport" needed. The use regular Transform parameters to Position and Scale within the Group. You can still publish the Pan & Scale of the drop zone to allow for media alignment (conforming e.g., fit-fill-none) before all other animation keyframing.

guess I'll have to do some more playing around with rigs. this didn't seem to work for me (operator ignorance). But the second solution does what I want it to do... now just rebuild the sequence with 150 drop zones 😐

A never finished project of mine with 11 was … impractical, in use in FCPX…
