I'd suggest making an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store. Anything you do yourself may just result in the gum getting pushed deeper into the speaker.

I could suggest something, but it will damage the finish of the phone. You may have to live with it, or keep picking at it. Got a pic to share so we all know what we are looking at?

Yeah there is that possibility. I didn't think of that.
