Please do not take offense to my request, but I care about world news and significant events. I continue to have “celebrity“ news in between important topics. Unfortunately, I cannot stop this. It is functionaly impossible as Apple does not have the dislike icon next to all searchable topics. See screenshot. Please enable for all so people who PAY for news sees the content we expect to see.

I see that you'd like to be able to control what you're being offered in the Apple News application. I don't know of anyone who likes everything they're presented, so no offense is taken, and I'm happy to help.
Control the kinds of stories that you see in Apple News -- When you dislike a story, you'll see fewer of the stories in your feed, but they may still appear. I recommend either to unfollow a topic or a channel, or hide the stories or channel you don't wish to see.
From the Topic list you've provided in your screenshot, select one of the topics, then tap the 
. If you ever decide that you'd like to see these in the future, you can unhide or follow again.
