Deleat from Comp - Save to iCloud

iCloud is not really designed for that. It is a syncing service rather than a cloud-only storage service.

However, if you turn on the Optimize Storage options --

for files: Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud > iCloud Drive - Options > Optimize Mac Storage

for photos: Photos app > Preferences > iCloud > iCloud Photo Library - Optimize Mac Storage

it will automatically reduce the storage space used on the Mac if it is low on storage.
