Hi all

I need your helpful advices : I got for moment a Macbook Pro Retina, and would like to connect an additionnal PC screen monitor. Of course the goal would be to have a quality and resolution as close as possible than the retina macbook screen : SO I cheked the following screen monitor : Samsung U28E590D 28-Inch / 3840 x 2160

I read lot of comments and feedbacks about this combo, but would like to be sure my macbook model will be able display smoothly without lag the display on this screen. It looks possible to run it on 60hz using displayport / USB-C cable. Based on my configuration below, could you please advise and let me know if it would be OK ? THANKS A LOT for your feedbacks guys User uploaded file

PROVIDED you use the DisplayPort input, that screen should work well and have very good refresh characteristics without any perceptible flickering. A Mini DisplayPort (plugs into ThunderBolt port on the 2015 model) to [Full size] DisplayPort cable should be cheap because it is all wires, no conversion.

Modern Displays with a DisplayPort input have an internal screen buffer, and the "heartbeat" re-painting of the display is eliminated (when using DisplayPort input). So the refresh rate of the display then depends completely on the display, not on the computer.

HDMI was invented for HD (up to 1920 by 1080p) display on consumer TV sets. Not recommended for higher-resolution Professional displays, unless your computer has an HDMI-2 port.

Hello guys

Thanks a lot for your feedback, really interesting. So to resume, you are saying that, if I connect this Samsung PC screen to my macbook, using a display port to Thunderbolt cable, the display should be OK, without lagging and with a good reactivity, using a resolution of 3840x2160, and support 60hz, right ? (with this cable eq. )StarTech.com Câble adaptateur Mini DisplayPort vers DisplayPort 1.2 de 1,8m - Cordon Mini DP à DP avec support HBR2 M/M …

if yes, then its perfect. the last thing I'm wondering, is if this Samsung monitor offers good performances for 300$, what is the advantage or scenarios that could be completed with a monitor like this one, more expensive ? https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B01MRLQMFB/ref=psdc_427938031_t3_B01LBQ3QCA

THANKS A LOT, and have a good day
