iPhone 8 rear camera not working

Phone auto updated to 11.3.1 and just earlier today it worked fine, then didn’t work closed out camera app and re-opened it still didn’t work.. locked and unlocked opener camera and it worked. Now it’s not working at all but front facing camera works.

Restarted it. Then reset it. Still doesn’t work. Even in apps it’s just a black screen. Can press button and it vibrates but doesn’t take photo. Video has a yellow triangle in upper left corner, clicked it and it says flash is disabled cuz phone is too hot. But phone isn’t hot. Took case off (just regular silicone case), still not working.

Also, JUST used the flashlight not too long ago and it worked fine.. just tried again and it doesn’t work at all!

It's difficult to diagnose your issue remotely (even say if it is a hardware or software failure).

I would take a look at this support guide:

Get help with the camera on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If you get no help, since your iP8 is still on warranty, I would recommend that you make an appointment at your most convenient Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider and have your device checked.
