Video problem in fullscreen

Not entirely sure how to explain this problem, so please see the following pictures. This is what I should see when watching a TedX video on youtube in fullscreen:

This is what I actually see on the screen:

This only happens in Safari, issue is not present in Chrome, and only in fullscreen and independent on video source (youtube, netflix etc). Please help?

MacBook Air, macOS High Sierra (10.13.4)

Try changing the screen resolution.

Changing the resolution seems to help and I'm gonna send feedback to Apple about the issue. Thanks Eric!
