Texting vertically or horizontally

If you are referring to not being able to rotate the screen, then go to Control Center and check the Orientation Lock to see if it is on. If so, then turn it off.

It sounds like you are going to Settings>Control Center to do this. That is not where I asked you to go. Just open the Control Center on your phone, swiping upwards from the bottom of the screen, and look there for it. See this, Orientation Lock is circled in Red, and in this view it is off.

In Control Center, Orientation Lock looks like an open padlock surrounded by a circular arrow. When on, the background is white with the icon red, and off, the background is black with the icon is white.

I believe you may be looking at this wrong. When you go into Settings>Control Center and tap on Customize, it will show you what controls can be deleted and then what can be added. Orientation Lock cannot be deleted from Control Center. I'm not completely understanding what you have said here,

Portrait orientation on or off is what it said & I'm disturb by the other things wanting delete as well !

You need to get out of Settings, and go to where I just showed you in the screenshot above.

You need to turn it off for the screen to be able to rotate.

As I said earlier, the "deletes" you mention are things that are currently in Control Center, and you can remove them if you wish. It is not necessary to remove then, it is your personal choice. If you have deleted something, then you can tap on the ➕ to add it back. If you are just looking at the list that is avaiable to be deleted, that have the ➖ in front of them, you cannot change that. They are the ones that are "available" to be deleted, they are not things that are going to be deleted. They are "valid" in your words.
