Bluetooth discoverable

Hello,

I've got a problem with Bluetooth discoverable. I use the magic keyboard and mouse so I need to have Bluetooth on. Whenever I'm at work, a lot of devices want to pair, I get a pairing request popup window. When I want to check the box to ignore that device, the popup vanishes before I can check the box. This is really annoying since I'm in a big building with a lot of devices, who keep want to connect to my MacBook. I'm on a MacBook Pro retina 13 inch - early 2015, running macos High Sierra.

If anyone knows how to fix this problem, please tell me.

Bluetooth should only be discoverable if you have the Bluetooth System Preference open.

Are you getting the popups with the Bluetooth System Prefs closed?

I've tried turning off handoff, but with no success. I don't know what to do. I've reinstalled mac, but that also did not work. I've uploaded a video to youtube with this link Bluetooth weirdness - YouTube there you can see the problem.

No. I don't have my phone in that type of congested BT environment, but my wife's iPhone has never paired with my account and it has never popped up trying to connect.

Yes, the bluetooth pref menu is closed. Also, when I hold alt(option) and click on the bleutooth logo in the menu bar, ir says that discoverable is on. Thanks for your time and help!

I’ve only turned on handoff. Ill disable it for now to see if it makes any different. Ill update once I’ve done this. Thank you very much for your help!

That video shows that Discoverable is Off. I don't know why it is doing that.

Yeah, I saw it was off. Last time it was still on when trying those things. Do you have any clue why the pop-ups keep coming?

That would imply something is amiss. I don't know of another way to make Bluetooth discoverable all the time. I'll have to poke around some more to see if I can figure out if this should be possible.

UPDATE.

Do you have Bluetooth Sharing turned on in Sharing System prefs?

How about Handoff in General System Prefs?
