vacation/event countdown app

I am looking for a vacation countdown app that can be set like an interactive wallpaper and you don't have to open the app each time?

iPhone 8, iOS 11.3.1

That's not possible on an iPhone. The closest you could come is to find one that has a Today Widget.

Most apps will mention in the description if they have a widget. You could also try doing an internet search for something like "iphone countdown app widget".
