How to turn off the camera click sound?

How to turn off the camera click sound? It keeps me from using my camera because it is so loud.

iPhone 8, iOS 11.3.1

I understand from your post that you would like to turn off the shutter sound of the Camera. The iPhone User Guide has some helpful information about adjusting the shutter-sound volume:

Take photos - iPhone User Guide

Adjust shutter-sound volume. Adjust the volume of the shutter sound using the Ringer and Alerts settings in Settings > Sounds (called Sounds & Haptics on models with system haptics). Or mute the sound using the Ring/Silent switch. (In some countries, muting is disabled.)

Thank you for your reply.

There does not seem to be a specific setting for the shutter sound volume. I have turned off keyboard clicks and lock sound and System Haptics. This has no effect on the shutter volume. It is as loud as ever.

The good news is that the ring/silent switch does seem to work.
