WhatsApp takes over FaceTime

May 7th, 2018

Whenever I go to make a FaceTime call from a Contact's info menu, the FaceTime icon is taken over by WhatsApp.

There is no iPhone setting to make FaceTime the primary video calling app, as there is no WhatsApp setting to stop it from taking over the video calling icon - in a Contact's info menu.

** Never mind. I removed Facebook's WhatsApp cancer infection. **

If you hold down the WhatsApp icon in a Contact's info menu where FaceTime used to be, you can select the default video calling app. Unfortunately, because Facebook's WhatsApp is like cancer that wants to infect every human and iPhone still doesn't give us the option to set default apps, you have to do it for every single Contact.

HI,

The Whatsapp app has caused a multitude of issues for Apple users.

Keep in mind, WhatsApp is a third party app, not written or updated by Apple so you need to contact the app developer > Contact a third-party vendor - Apple Support
