CarPlay Phone Mic on Kenwood radio is not working

I have a new Kenwood aftermarket radio DDX9905S that includes CarPlay. Most things seem to work (although I just started to test it) except the Phone. I can connect and hear but when I speak it is completely garbled and unusable. I have contacted Kenwood support and they say it is a problem with the latest version of IOS 11.3 They seem to imply that it is Apples fault/problem. Is this the case? Also has anyone experienced this problem with CarPlay?

Hi,

I have the same issue and the issue started over a week ago.

I even got my whole system changed in my care but still same result.

Everything works fine with Car's Bluetooth but with CarPlay the mic doesn't work so definitely an issue at apple's end

Obviously something in iOS11.3 caused or triggered this problem but I feel it is Kenwood's responsibility to keep up with the Apple updates if they want to advertise that they offer CarPlay. There has been one update to iOS since this problem started and the problem still exists. Hopefully this will be resolved soon! I'm afraid Kenwood may not be the loudest voice in the room when it comes to Apple updates so if the problem is not resolved with the next iOS update then we should jump on Kenwood to fix it on their end.
