Sony A73 still doesn't import into Photos

Hi. I've seen posts as far back as December 2017 saying that people are waiting for an update. Well, it's May, and I'm still unable to import my RAW images from my Sony A73 digital camera into Photos app. Can we get an ETA?

I would say the Sony A7iii is a pretty mainstream camera.

That does not guarantee RAW support, unfortunately. Apple has been very reliable to support cameras quickly, that are most likely to be used by professional photographers, because they are most likely to work mainly with RAW files. Only recently, after dropping the professional market, has Apple started to include RAW support for cameras that are not the main camera models for the professional market.

But seeing that the Sony A7Riii is already on Apple’s compatibility list, I don’t see the a7iii being too far behind. #optimistic

But that said, you brought up a very interesting point in regards to Apple rolling back their professional line of tech. It would be interesting to see if they’re trying to compete in the photographic world with their mobile product line.
