What type of IR extender works with Apple TV 4K?

Since you can get some functionality over infra-red (for example using the old Apple remote) any mains-powered IR extender, such as the Powermid for example, should work as long as it's IR in at one end and out at the other. Obviously you have to place them within sight of the remote in one case and the ATV in the other.

I had to look up what that is. IR extenders that popped up, do not use USB for communication, therefore no need for USB ports on the Apple TV. It receives IR on one end and emits IR on the other. The few extenders with USB have that for power (either directly or via an outlet adapter).
