Benefits of GarageBand
This isn't a question but an observation for Apple. I started using garageband on my ipad around a year ago and I would love to put a story or whitepaper together about the benefits. I don't see a lot on the internet about this but if you think about what recording used to be like even five years ago, from my perspective garage band is one of the most amazing advances in recording technology in music history.
Think about how we used to have to by DAW hardware and all the related outboard gear. It wasn't mobile and it wasn't all that easy to produce a CD or get songs out of the proprietary systems.
Today all that gear is basically a boar anchor cuz I cant even sell it.
I can create everything I need on my ipad and it doesn't matter if I'm at home in my jammies, on a beach somewhere, travelling or even at work. And you don't technically have to be a virtuoso at a given instrument to create amazing tracks. In my case I am dyslexic when it comes up to the piano but I have an ear so I can build complex piano pieces one note at a time if needed.
My only additional investment was a $100 interface for a mic or guitar.
Plus when you start messing around with autoplay and all the fun vocal treatments this product is simply amazing. Then there's all the available amps and such.
I am going to spend some time formalizing my thoughts around this and I've love to submit something to apple.
