iPhone X with the most recent iOS update 11.3.1 overheats when using facetime or any video messaging apps. It’s not even summer yet and my phone will shut me out telling me to cool it down before I can use it again. I’m not sure if it’s the phone or my service provider (AT&T) but I’ve recently noticed that I have issues connecting to wifi and cellular service. It’s ridiculous considering the price tag for this iphone X. Help!
I was experiencing some significant drain/heating issues as well. I turned off the ‘Peak Performance Capability’ under the new ‘Battery Health’ section of ‘Settings’ and it seems to have helped so far.
First of all check the Battery folder in Settings and see what are the top 3 apps using/draining your battery.
Second it is normal to get small heat from FaceTime and/or video, especially if the phone is charging in the same time and the battery is "stressed". But it is not normal to shut down and/or tell you it's overheated.
The next step would be to recommend a hard reset and see if with no apps installed you get the same behavior.
Hello guys, I m recently having similar issue, mainly to connect to wifi or cellular. It does not connect automatically, not even to cellular, not to wifi networks that it should remember. From wifi gets disconnected very often and cannot connect back. Due to this the pho e is getting overheated and the whole process drains battery like crazy. Lot of problems for not a cheap phone. Any advice? Thanks
Still having these issues? I’m starting to think I have the same issue. Every once and a while my iPhone X won’t switch over to cellular when I leave WiFi at home. I’ll need to reboot the phone to regain cellular data. Right now I’m avoiding using my phone while it charges to see if this solves the problem. I play games on my phone that really hog the battery usage.
