Backup/Restore

My iPhone's screen is red/pink and i am trying to back it up to my MacBook. When i plug it into my computer it says iTunes could not connect to my phone because the value is missing. I cannot access anything in my phone, how do i fix this issue?

iPhone 5s, iOS 11.3

Lyn I plug my iphone XS Max on to my Windows PC wanting to backup via iTunes. The Apple Device is detected and can be accessed after I Trust the PC from my iphone. However, in iTunes, the phone logo is not there for me to do backup and syncing. I have already update my iPhone to the new iOS, iTunes is the latest. Restarted both my iPhone and the PC. Tried updating the Apple driver. Nothing seems to work. Anyone has any explanation to this?
