I just changed my iMac password to empty, nothing or blank. I do not have apple iCloud connected or signed in.
I restarted the iMac and I'm unable to log in because the blank password.
When I press "enter", the password hint comes up. I'm unable to login without a password.
How can I fix this?

Do you have another account you can log into and then change the password on the other account.
If you don't have another account, boot into Recovery, open Terminal from the Utilities menu, then run this command:
resetpassword
Instead of putting a blank password, set the Mac to auto-login to that account.

These seem different to me.
If you had a password of "nothing", you would not even be asked a password. I have a user account set up this way.
So perhaps you have a password of "blank". Yet you never indicated you tried entering "blank" when being asked for your password.
