Iphone opens messages from only one person

Iphone will open messages from only one of my contacts, leaving them on ’read’ as soon as their messages deliver. Also for same person, i get no normal notification sound, but instead i hear the sound you would hear when receiving a text in the messages app. Help! Ive tried EVERYTHING! Do not disturb is off, ive checked if her notifications are on, and everything seems good!
