My macbook is locked by a firmware password, however, I have never set one before. Please help me! Thank you!

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding your MacBook is locked with a firmware password that you don't remember setting up. I can definitely see how this could be concerning.

If you forgot your firmware password

If you can't remember your firmware password or passcode, schedule an in-person service appointment with an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider. Bring your Mac to the appointment, and bring your original receipt or invoice as proof of purchase.
