Create bootable USB installer

I'm following this guide here and after entering the Terminal command, at step 6 it asks me this question:

"To continue we need to erase the disk at /Volumes/Macintosh HD."

"If you wish to continue type (Y) then press return:"

Does that mean that it will erase the current disk that I'm using on the current computer? because that's not what I want.

Yes, it does!


In the support article, "MyVolume" is the volume name of the USB stick, NOT your Mac's internal drive, which by default is named: Macintosh HD.
