Using Apple Watch to mute line in a call

Hi. Following on from this threadUsing Airbuds, can I mute a conference call with my Apple Watch? Does anyone know if this is possible? When in a call on the iPhone, can you mute your line via the watch? This is particularly for when using the Airbuds (or any headphone for that matter).

Looks like you can do it when the call is on the Watch itself but this is for when the call is on the iPhone. Surely this must be doable as it's got to be a "basic" feature to enable true wireless but I'm starting to think perhaps it isn't and you have to take your phone out of your pocket each time :-(

Aye but does anyone know if this is possible when the call is on the iPhone? I noticed if I go to the phone app on the Watch during a call, I can select the active call but all it does is show the current duration of the call and an option to hang up. Nothing for call volume or line mute.

Even if something like the Skype (for business) app had this option it would at least be helpful given the amount of Skype (for business) calls we do at work.
