macbook 12 usb-c dongles - hyperdrive 5 in 1 alternatives

Hi,

Where can I buy a hub that offers at least one USB3.0/3.1 port, and 2 usb-c ports, with at least one USB-c port capable of charging? Such a hub must have a single fixed point of connection, compatible with the 12" Macbook equipped with a single USB-c port.

I have my eye on the Hyperdrive 5 in 1 hub, but it doesn't have two USB-C outlets. It has a single USB-c port for both use and charging and 2 USB3.0 ports. I probably won't use the 2 additional card readers that it is featured with.

MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), Single USB-C port

This one was a real toughie. I'm thinking of getting a MacBook myself and got curious. Most of what's out there with two USB-C ports (where one is a charging passthrough) are only designed for the MacBook Pro as a dock that only works with two fixed USB-C connectors.

But then I found this:

Amazon.com: Kingston Nucleum USB C Hub, Type-C Adapter connect USB 3.0, HDMI, SD/microSD, Power Pass through for MacBook…

Here's a review:

It has 2 USB-C ports, 2 USB-A ports, HDMI, SD, and micro SD - with one USB-C male connector on a captive cable. However, it sounds like one of the USB-C ports is only suitable as a charging input while the other only works as an data/power-output port. This might be the only thing close to what you're looking for.

There are the specific ones for MacBook Pros with two USB-C ports. However, they've got the hard connector. I suspect one just passes straight through, while the other one is used for the hub.

Also - I read one of the reviews and it does sound as if both USB-C ports on the Kingston Nucleum can be used for data. However, only one of those ports can be used as a charging input. However, it also stated that there's a glitch where it will be disabled for maybe a second after power is connected/disconnected to the passthrough port.

Thank you, y_p_w! Your suggestion is exactly what I need. It's expensive but I'll bite the bullet and get one. Price is comparable with Apple Multiport Adaptors.

I find it strange that USB-C is the next standard connection type, yet the Kingston Nucleus hub you have shown is the only observed hub capable of charging a PC while while running one device.
