late 2013 27inch iMac, how much RAM does it support

I have a 27-inch late 2013 iMac. I'm wondering how much RAM it can support. I've previously been told it is maxed out at 16GB but I look online and i see reference to some with 32GB. How can I know if the RAM is maxed out or not?

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.4)

Yes, you can safely install 32GB. Apple publishes it specs on introduction and Apple RAM (16 GB) but then third parties manufacture RAM that can support 34 GB.

But Macs are fussy about RAM, so only use high quality RAM. Both Crucial and OWC are reliable vendors with high quality RAM.
