Macbook 12 connect Monitor to USB 3.0

Hi,

I have a 2015 12 inch MacBook and I was wondering if the following way of connecting an external monitor and keeping power would work:

- 5 in 1 Dongle (2 x USB 3.0 ports)

- Then connect a USB 3.0 to USB C cable to the USB 3.0 port on my dongle

- Then connect to female to female USB C connection part.

- Then connect my USB C to HDMI adapter to my 1080p monitor.

My question, would this work. The only thing I am missing at the moment is the USB C female to female adapter. But I just want to make sure this would work.

Hi, thanks again for the reply. I am aware that there are multiple dongles which are able to do the things I want. However my question is if the setup I want to do right now is supposed to work.

In other words is it possible to connect a USB-C dongle and then connect and HDMI screen via adapters to the usb 3.0 port of the USB-C dongle.

I can't tell surely, but my opinion is, that it can work, because USB-C (Thunderbolt 3) is capable of 40GB/s but i also read, that MacBook Pro's USB-C is only capable of 10GB/s because of 'Reduced PCI Express Bandwidth.' The best way is ask in Apple Store and take the dongles with you. Another question is, if the dongle and adapter are capable of 10GB/s data transfer. I only use adapter USB-C to USB-A for my external drive.
