My Apple ID was used for a purchase but I'm not aware

Hi There,

Please note that recently apple ID has send me an invoice to pay for which i have no idea on how it was purchased and i dont even know when this was done. I feel my ID was hacked and this purchase was made. Because few weeks later, i did receive an email from some country that someone was trying to sign in. But i did notify on the email sent by apple ID that it wasn't me and changed my password. However after that i had done software update, whereby they needed my password and i wasn't able to login in, so i changed my passport again. And now recently i receive a message from apple support that i need to make payment, if not my ID would be locked in 24 hours.

Please advise the steps to take.

Thanks

Heena

It's a scam ...

Avoid phishing emails, fake 'virus' alerts, phony support calls, and other scams - Apple Support

If you received or acted on a likely phishing message:

If you received a suspicious email, please forward it to reportphishing@apple.com. If you're on a Mac, select the email and choose Forward As Attachment from the Message menu.

If you think you might have entered personal information like a password or credit card info on a scam website, immediately change your Apple ID password.

Apple will never do that.

If the only indication of the charges is from an email or text, be aware that it may be a phishing attempt to get you to log in to a site that appears to be Apple and divulge your password or credit card information. and Identify legitimate emails from the App Store or iTunes Store - Apple Support

You can use the following instructions to determine if it is a real charge, what it is for, and to report a problem: Get help with an item purchased from the App Store, iTunes Store, or iBooks Store - Apple Support

Apple will always address you by your name or the name they have on file for you, not Dear Customer, Dear Client or by using your e-mail address. The e-mail will be from @apple.com or @iTunes.com. E-mail addresses can be spoofed. You can go to Mail/View/Message/Show all Headers to see more. Apple e-mails will never contain an attachment. Apple will never request personal information such as Social Security numbers.
