How do you change process priority?

I was playing Fortnite, and it was lagging a lot. I headed over to Activity Monitor to change the priority but I couldn't find how to do it. I already tried going on Activity Monitor and tried downloading another app called atMonitor but it didn't work either.

Please give me some info on how to change process priority on my Mac.

Try at your own risk...

in Terminal, you can alter the priority level with the "renice" command.

For example:

sudo renice -20 12345

will give the maximum priority to the process number 12345.

(as usual with sudo, you have to be running from an admin account; you will be asked for your password, and while typing it nothing will be displayed; press entered when finished typing the password).

I have not used renice in a mac in years and have no idea if it will work. It still appears in the manual.
