Why does my new IPhone X battery drain so fast?

Is the phone getting hot? Usually tristar internally shorts and ***** amps out of the battery at a rate of 10% an hour. Are using a cheap charger and /or cigarette lighter car charger? Poor tristar can't handle the dirty voltage from these chargers.

The cable is far more of an issue than the adapter.

I would suggest that you restore the phone as new and test for a couple of days. Don't add anything on it except your contacts and see how the phone performs. If the battery seems ok, then you'll know that something you're putting on the phone is causing a problem. The next step will be to figure out just what.

There are a lot of demanding apps on the Appstore and one of the most demanding types are AR apps. AR apps/games can take up a lot of battery away from your device very quickly. Also the standard iPhone charger included in the box is not capable of fast charging. I would suggest buying a 29W USB-C Power Adapter, which can charge your phone to 50 percent in 30 minutes.

I use a battery power bank so I can charge when out & about.

Look on EBAY /Amazon.

Yeah only use the original cable or a cable that has the "Made for iPhone" badge. These cable have the Apple E75 chip that protects the phone, you won't get one for less than 5-6 dollars. If you use a cheaper cable you will damage your phone. Luckily, replacing tristar is not too difficult.
