Trying to type a euro symbol but it keeps giving me a TM symbol instead.
I have High Sierra OS. I would like to get € sign when I click alt + 2, and ™ sign when I click alt + shift + 2.
Does anyone know how to do it?
Here someone has the same problem (how can I get euro sign instead of TM sign) but didn't said how to solve it for others.

Sorry but I not sure if I'm explaining myself well, what I want to do is change the behaviour of my keyboard mapping.
Currently, to get ™ sign when I click alt + 2, and € sign when I click alt + shift + 2.
What I want is, to get ™ sign when I click alt + 2, and € sign when I click alt + shift + 2.
Not bad option but doesn't work for me. There are times where I need to write 'euro' and not the symbol. Also is longer to type, alt + 2 are 2 keys and 'euro' 4 keys 🙂
Since I could see that is possible to remap keys I want to know how I can do it.
BTW, I don't understand why the British/Irish keyboard has the symbol € on the key 2, but when you pressed you get ™ instead of €, come on Apple!!
There isn't a way to remap keys in the os. You would have to use a program like Karabiner.
If you switch to a European keyboard, it is likely going to be readily available. For instance, the British keyboard has it at Opt-2

option (alt) + shift + 2 = €
You second and third sentences of yours are saying the same thing.
This is what I get:
option + 2 = ™
option + shift + 2 = €
option + 3 = £

Well why don't you create a text replacement instead, it is much simpler?

I tested with Replace euro With €
Whatever text you want to replace is up to you.
I used euro just as a test, you can use [e for example or something else which is shorter than euro.
I tried to change to British keyboard and still the same issue 😟
I gonna try with Karabiner.
