Occaisional black login screen

Hi all,

Perhaps every 25th boot, the screen will be black. If I type my username, tab, password, return, then the login succeeds and the desktop appears. the work-around is easy enough, but it seems basic enough that this should not be an issue. I am running Mac OS 10.13.4.
