Trackpad/keyboard stopped working. 2011 mbp

after many resets etc I just purchased new trackpad. Put all back together but nothing. Trying to do smc reset & pram also ( using both built in and external Bluetooth one) of course if keyboard on unit not working then of course it’s not working.

There has been no water damage etc. lappy was under AppleCare and I had battery replaced as old one swelled up. It was working fine until it just stopped. I could for a while pull ribbon off logic board and re plug and it would work again. No more. Just spent $150 on trackpad and am gutted it not work. Any other ideas?
