Weird artefacts on texts

Hello,

I recently upgraded to High Sierra and noticed weird artefacts around texts. Here's an example:

'Use LCD font smoothing when available' is active. If I uncheck it, the weird artefacts are gone but the text becomes unreadable:

I have not noticed something like this on Sierra and I'm interested to know if it's indeed a problem or just specific to my machine.

macOS Font/Language bug? Hi everyone! I have been having a problem with macOS since today. In some apps (like StreamLabs OBS and Opera GX) it shows a weird font/language on some of the text (not all of it), and usually when I click on it, it shows the normal text that I typed in. It's a little hard to explain and I can't really find it anywhere online, maybe you guys can help me out? Glitchy messages app on Mac Since moving to BigSur (which was also a move onto an M1 MacBook Air) the messages app has been glitchy... when I delete or try to correct text, other text will also change - seems to be fairly randomly. I've taken to composing messages in TextEdit and pasting them in as finished messages - which isn't ideal.

High Sierra cannot display Wordle graphic in my 2012 MBP This is a post of Wordle results and you should see grey, yellow or green squares. Wordle 286 6/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜🟨 🟩⬜🟩🟩🟩 🟩⬜🟩🟩🟩 🟩⬜🟩🟩🟩 🟩⬜🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 But if i look at it in High Sierra on my 2012 MBP I see this, in Safari, Notes, Word, every app. It used to display correctly in Catalina on this same MacBook pro but having bought a replacement I cleaned this one out and re-installed High Sierra from scratch (to use Aperture again) The fonts seem to be Apple Color Emoji and the Font book contains that font. I have tried, Reset of all fonts in Font Book, NVRAM reset SMC reset, sign into guest account, Safe mode and now a complete re-install of HS from the internet even though this installation was only 2 days old already The same graphic shows correctly on all my other Apple devices, iPhone, iPad and Monterey so it isn't my Apple account. Any ideas please? MacBook pro mid 2012 High Sierra.
