From the moments screen, tap [Select] at top right, tap desired photos, tap the [Send to] button in bottom right, tap [Add To Album] in the list, [Select] people album desired, animation shows pictures dropped into album, but when album is opened, pics not there. Why?
Done it twenty times, pics refuse to appear in that album. I’ve added many pics this way, but these ones are side shots of the people, software refuses to place them into the album.

You can only add photos to standard albums with "Add to album", not to smart albums or the predefined albums.
To add a photo to a People album, name a face of a person, that appears in the photo by typing the name into the text field below the faces circle on the photo. You may beed to enable "View > Show Faces names" to be able to see the circles around the detected faces.
