Message recipient is red on computer

Still having the problem with phone and computer not mirroring text messages. my recipient is red on the macbook Pro running Sierra, but works on the iPhone 8 Plus.

The latest iOS update no longer provides a setting under Messages to Send Text Messages to Computer.

Apple ID and password are identical for all devices and applications.

Any new solutions to this problem?
