Cannot play CDs from my drive on iMac
My cd drive no longer recognizes cd's to play or download but will play dvd's so it cannot be a problem with the drive so what is wrong?

If it reads DVDs but not CDs or vice-versa, that commonly indicates a dirty drive, something that is easily fixed. Get a drive cleaning disk and run it. These disks have a very good track record for restoring function to seemingly dead optical drive. They are usually about US$5 to $15, and available at most computer shops, home entertainment outlets, and office stores that carry computers.
