System software from developer AVAST blocked

I have just installed the free version of AVAST anti-virus software on my MacBook Pro (2012), but my system has blocked the system extensions for File Shield, Mail Shield & Web Shield. This means that I am not protected "live" in these areas. In Security & Privacy settings, the "ALLOW" button is active, but when I click it nothing happens. I am running OSX 10.13.4. How can I fix this?

On another note you really don't need Avast. There are NO known viruses for Macs. All Avast does is lighten your wallet and adversely affect the system performance. You should remove it according to the developer's instruction: Uninstalling Avast Security from Mac | Official Avast Support

Additionally there is absolutely no need for any A/V, "cleaning", "optimizing"or "speedup" apps for the Mac. They are known to do more harm and no good.

Your system is doing you a big favor! No Anti-Virus software or so-called “cleaning” apps are needed or recommended for Mac OS. They can conflict with Mac's own built-in security. At best they will slow your Mac by using unnecessary resources and at worst will bork your entire system. And Avast is one of the worst.

I have had my Apple MacBook Pro since 2013 and have never installed anti virus software. Then today while I was on the internet, an alert box came up telling me I had 4 trojan horse viruses & offering to scan my computer. I thought at the time that it may be a scam, so I decided to install Avast and check the computer out. So, now that you have given me your expert advice, I have uninstalled Avast. Thank you for your help.
