2011 iMac very slow when booting up

My mid 2011 iMac 21" running OS Sierra 10.12.6 takes too long to boot up and open applications. I rarely restart the computer because of this. I also have the dreaded beachball appear more often than I'd like when I have multiple apps open. A few years ago I added additional RAM and am now at 8GB. I suspect that I need to add additional RAM but want to know if there are any other issues that are compromising the machine's performance. I ran a system report on http://etrecheck.com/ and have attached for review and advice.

Thanks in advance for your help

Thanks for the instructions. I completed all tasks and can report that for the Mac HD drive, the boot support partition for volume was updated, exit code = 0, drive Ok and operation was successful. No issues reported. Similar results doe OS X Base system

Rebooted and computer seemed to boot up faster And my WiFi loaded immediately. However, it still takes awhile to start up word or any other apps. When I try to close word, I get the pervasive beach ball and need to force quit the app

Uninstall AVG and Clean My Mac as per the developer's instructions. No Anti-Virus software or so-called “cleaning” apps are needed or recommended for Mac OS. They can conflict with Mac's own built-in security. At best they will slow your Mac by using unnecessary resources and at worst will bork your entire system.

Also, uninstall Truesteer it is known to cause problems.

Then run another Etrecheck report and post the results.

You still have CleanMyMac in User LaunchAgents and Daemons.

From your Finder "Go" menu > "Go to folder" and enter

~/Library/LaunchAgents

Click Go.

Find and delete the plist file.

The go to /Library/LaunchDaemons and delete that one.

Try cancelling the pending iCloud transfers or turn iCloud off to test.

Also boot into Recovery Mode and run Disk Utility > First Aid. Let it know what it reports. Your runtime could indicate a problem with the hard drive.
