Mac mini Dead. Fan pulses every 3 seconds

Hi

my late 2012 MacMini seems to have died and does not boot up, and does not display anything on the screen.

With the bottom off, I can see the fan pulses and spins anti-clockwise for a second, then stops for a few seconds, the again spins anti-clockwise for a second. Again, stops for a few, then spins clockwise for a second. Stops, then starts the pattern again.

From this behavior, does anyone know what the issue may be ?

thank you

Based on your description of the issue, I would venture to guess that the problem could be either a failed power supply or logic board on the mini. Did you experience either a power outage or lightning storm recently?

What have you tried, so far, to resolve this yourself? For example, did you try to reset the mini's SMC or NVRAM? Did you try plugging the mini into another power source?

In addition to the fan spinning every few seconds, at the same time the fan spins, the power light comes on for a second, the goes out, then back on again when the fan spins. Over and over again.

Almost like it’s trying to start up, but something then kicks in and cuts the power, then it just keeps trying to start up.
