iOS 11.4 slowing down iPhone

My phone automatically downloaded iOS 11.4. Then my phone get slower like iPhone 6 Plus. How can I downgrade or can  try to stop slow phones and iPad’s?

Try a hard reboot, that often fixes issues after an update. It could just be an app that isn't playing well with the new iOS.

Look under battery in settings to see what is draining the battery. With my wife's iPhone, it was the native camera app, even though it wasn't open or in use, so couldn't be closed (hope that makes sense). The hard reboot fixed it.

Similar issue here. My iPhone 6 16Gb updated to IOS 11.4 about a month ago, and now it is running slow and is hanging up when I run Facebook from either the Facebook API or Safari. My battery is showing 100% and it still runs slow when plugged into AC power. Yes, I've tried all of the hard resets, updates, waiting 24 hours, etc... This is reminiscent of the throttling issues back in November and I'm wondering if Apple has any clues about this? I'm tempted to upgrade to the X, but nervous I'm going to have the same issues, since the IOS versions are similar.

This is hardly helpful or constructive. The reference to worse is in a particular context, that being the speed of the OS on particular models. It was not suggested that the new OS is worse in its entirety and that the benefits do not outweigh the cons. It is not fair on that basis to accuse people of lacking logic, perhaps their language could be more precise. What is illogical is to state that any "problems that someone has can be resolved in one way or another and if it is a software issue it is FREE" without explanation of what you mean or how they may resolve them.

No doubt you mean well, but its better to be critical and constructive, than just plainly critical.

TFS86 wrote - I know iOS 12 is around the corner and that will be worse than 11. You are right when you say it was not suggested that the new iOS is worse in its entirety. But you are incorrect at the interpretation as it was clearly stated that it was worse. I am guessing you are just trolling since anyone who has spent any amount of time here knows what is involved in resolving software issues. I will not list the myriad of ways available to people requesting help. Stop lecturing people on things you are wrong about.

I am saying that the original poster should update to iOS 11 and that we can help resolve any issues that may arise. If the battery is bad it was bad before the upgrade. There are many steps that can be taken to resolve most software issues. Posting things that are disparaging and the opposite of what actually needs to happen is what is disrespectful. I could care less either way but to blatantly give false information based on someones unfortunate interaction with a device is not what this technical forum is for. Everyone should always update their software because of security features. The software they are holding so dear to had countless updates too. Most times it is not because it is better but because it is familiar.

I waited months to upgrade from 10.3.3. All my devices worked well. No battery issues, no dtopped calls, no sound issues. I have all three after trying all these suggestions. Notoriously, any Apple upgrade has not been ksmooth sailing, since I purchased Apple products long ago. As a QA Analyst that worked with Windows from its inception, one thing I really appreciate Microsoft for doing is that their documentation is updated to match the Windows release. Apple does not have this track record. It provided for a long learning curve to convert to Apple. However, I love that Apple does not have the virus problems that Windows seems to have. However, I stay an avid Apple user to this day becaues they are overall great phones. In regards to this particular upgrade, I am a bit disheartened to have waited so long to have these issues. Immediately, my sound was effected on both my IPad Air 2 and my iPhone 5s. After a couple of days, now opening apps and switching between them the iOS seems to lag and be delayed while using them. Facebook also has this issue. It seems that Apple should know about these issues by now. Apple products cost quite a bit more. Seems they could afford great TQM practices. I have complained about it several timss. Now, I am just used to something not going quite like I would prefer. Hope it gets improved in the future.
