LaCie Raid Drive doesn't mount after update

Hello all together!

Regards from Germany. I've a serious problem. I've a LaCie 2 big Quadra Raid hard drive (2x 3 TB), connected with USB 3.0 to my imac (2017 - 3,4 GHz i5). Everything ran fine. After I updated to MacOS 10.13.4 my imac couldn't "see" the Raid drive any more. Not in the finder, not in the disk utility, only in the "System Report" in the "about this mac" in the USB-Section it is still displayed as "LaCie 2 Big Quadra", but nowere else in the system.

My Macbook Pro was still 10.13.3 and went still smoothly with the drive. Very unluckily, also my Macbook pro updated to 10.13.4 today (don't know why it did that, I didn't force it to). Now the same issue here: it doesn't mount/see the Raid drive any more.

I already had some telephone support from Apple: I reinstalled the whole system with time machine, I changed the USB ports, I changed the cable.

I also contacted the LaCie Support, but they can't help me, as it is very apparently a MacOS issue and no hardware problem.

What else can I do? I'm really worried as I'm a professional wedding photographer and all my client data was backed up on this RAID drive. Is there a chance that this bug is fixed in the next MacOS Update? When will it come? Can it be that a 400 EUR-investment is destroyed by a operating system update??? :-(

Thanks a lot in advance!

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.4)

Just out of curiosity, are you running any RAID/Disk/SMART monitoring software?

I was running a Lacie 2Big 2x3TB Thunderbolt unit, and basically the program I was using at the time, DriveDX, caused the Lacie to be completely useless under High Sierra. The same behaviour was also present using SMARTReporter as well.

My belief, after using the second app, is that this is a Lacie issue with their firmware.

Other external disks I had were read properly by the apps. As soon as I plugged in the Lacie and opened the app, it beach balled and eventually force-ejected the Lacie.

If I closed the app, rebooted the computer and didn't launch either of the apps, the Lacie was readable and writeable in the Finder and showed no issues.

However in the end, I got rid of the Lacie and switched to a OWC RAID and have no issues running the monitoring apps.

Thank you very much for your quick answer. I had the original LaCie Raid Manager Software installed on my imac. After your post, I deinstalled the software and rebootet the imac. Still nothing changed. :-(

I'm sort of surprised in case this is a firmware issue, there is no reaction from the side of LaCie. I think LaCie is more or less a "Mac stuff company", and they should care that there hardware is running with the newest MacOS.

When I had the conversation with the LaCie Support, the dialogue was pretty difficult as they offered support in German but the replies where not really understandable.

I'm getting crazy here...
