Since upgrading to iOS 11.4 yesterday, there is one beep between each song and two if I skip a song in iPhone Music App (not Apple Music). The beeps were definitely not there before the upgrade.
Anyone know why or how to turn them off??

I had this issue with my Bluetooth in the car. It ended out being a warning that my volume on the phone was up all the way.
Turned the volume down a bit on the phone and the beep (between songs) went away immediately.
Its not clear whether or not you tried the solution mentioned on here that works for some users: Turn the volume to MAX on your SE and then adjust the volume back down on your headphones...leave the phone volume at MAX.

My iPod Touch 6 (12.1.4) makes beeps between songs on my bathroom cabinet Diamond X K401 rgbaud too. Thanks to AppleCare I am in touch with Apple for more than half a year. The device was even sent to Apple - no success. None of the workarounds in this thread solved the problem.
I tried several music apps, always beeps. But now I found an app that solved my Problem: VOX – MP3 & FLAC Music Player. The free version will do. No more beeps and much nicer and more features than the stock player. I am happy again!
For what it's worth, the 11.4.1 upgrade did fix it on my iphone 8. Not sure if this is permanent or whether it will come back.
I'm glad this worked for you. But honestly, that's really not a solution. According to Apple support staff, certain devices are affected by this issue starting after iOS 11.4 so its a device (firmware?) issue, not a volume setting issue. But hey-it you cant hear the beeps, thats all that matters!

i faced the same problem with a pair of Teufel BT Mute headphones.
after reading many suggestions, i tried them out, as well as combinations of the aproaches.
what helps for me so far (with iOS 12.0.0):
- turn the volume completely up on the iPhone (slider or button doesn't seem to make a difference).
- then reduce the volume by the volume-control-buttons on the headphones.
and the beeps are gone. so far at least.

I mistankenly hit the down volume key on my phone and the beeps immediately returned. But I maxed the volume again and they were gone. So it seems to be a reliable fix for certain environments.
I'm pretty sure Steve Jobs wouldnt tolerate this issue for long.
An interesting justification for the beep. But the solution doesnt fit with the most common fix (but by no means universal) which is to just turn the volume on the iPhone to max and then adjust the volume as needed on the bluetooth device.

The other thing I noticed is that it really is a beep before every song, not just between. Select any song to play you get the beep and it starts playing, and then before every song it plays. Select a new song during playback; beep, song starts. It's the same beep you hear when you change the volume.
On another older thread about beeping and bluetooth someone said that turning off System Haptics (under Settings\Sounds And Haptics) fixed their issue. Just for kicks I tried it - didn't work for me.
I also noticed they already pushed an 11.4.1 update to beta. I hope that they are aware of this an the fix is in there.
UPDATE: Since replacing the GTA Carkit in my Toyota Tacoma, first the beeps were still there but the next day they were gone. I’ve not driven it in a week but will report back any findings. The vendor can’t explain this behavior.
I had this iissue on GTA Carkits Bluetooth receiver I installed in a Toyota Tacoma. As mentioned previously, the manufacturer was terrific (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for this application) and exchanged the device, free of charge and the problem went away. It hasnt returned in two months. I wish I knew conclusively what the solution is but in my case, I know it started after the 11.4 upgrade, has nothing to do with the volume setting and wasnt solved by plugging/unplugging the bluetooth device or re-booting my iPhone 6.

Hi! Happening the same with iPhone 6S with iOS 12.0 (also happening with 11.4.1). With SoundPeats Q9A headphones and also with Sennheiser HD4.50BTNC...
I didn't realize about the beep since two months ago or so... But know I can hear it... it's here all the time! For me it's happening with Music App (NOT Apple Music), when a new songs start always sounds a beep. Also, at everyplace, if I push up/down the volume also there is a beep... It's really very annoying because I have other bluetooth headphones/speakers (Bose SoundLink II, Xiaomi Sports) and they are not beeping. Also, wired headphones doesn't beep.
These two headphones has noise cancelling (at least as per technical sheet) but really I don't know if it is the issue. And probably prior to 11.4 there was no beep because I didn't realize about that.
I've tried everything (go to maximum volume and after go down didn't worked), the only thing that I didn't perform is a phone reset... but I don't want to do that!!! Same headphones are working well with other devices (Android, iMac, etc.)
Seems that it is an issue with iOS as boulderskies says, hopefully it is solved quickly... but after a couple of new versions it was not solved so really I don't trust Apple to solve this... maybe the want we buy Airpods or whatever...

THIS WORKED. I am the original poster for this problem. My environment is a GTA Car Kits Bluetooth transmitter and an iPhone 6 playing Podcasts and iTunes music thru a Toyota factory JBL stereo.
And this worked, as a couple of people have stated on here. And its simple. Lets get the others who have not tried this to do it and report back:
1. Simply adjust the iPhone volume to MAX.
It would be interesting to see if it works across the board.
