iOS 11.4: iPhone Music App Beeps Between Songs?

Since upgrading to iOS 11.4 yesterday, there is one beep between each song and two if I skip a song in iPhone Music App (not Apple Music). The beeps were definitely not there before the upgrade.

Anyone know why or how to turn them off??

I am have the beeps on the Apple Music Player in conjunction with a car Bluetooth receiver. I just tried raising the volume on the iPhone to max (using the buttons). The beeps disappear when volume is at max and reappear at any lower volume setting. Thanks to all who suggested the issue is related to volume control.

I have this issue on my iPhone SE, I recently upgraded to IOS 12.01 and it is still occuring. I happens on 2 different Bluetooth headsets and only within iTunes. I use the podcast app and other media apps and none of them do this. The headsets work great on other devices (laptop and an Android phone). The battery on both devices show fully charged and the volume is not high, usually 6 or 7.

This is getting extremely annoying, Apple please fix this!

Just bought a brand new iPhone XS Max the other day (have been on Windows Phone for the last 8-9 years) and am getting this issue too on iOS 12.1 with my Sennheiser HD4.50BTNCs (not tried my Jabras yet).

Had a fair few teething issues moving over so far, but this is definitely the worst so far! Increasing the volume to max and decreasing it using the headphone controls worked which appears to be a temporary workaround, but it’s definitely not a permanent solution. Surprised this hasn’t been fixed yet if it’s been around since iOS 11.

I hope Apple do read these threads and gets this looked into because it’s certainly making me question whether I should have gone with Android instead.

So I found a solution to this problem:

The beep sound heard between songs is an issue of the volume between two devices being out of sync. For example, having the volume on your headphone turned to max, and your volume on the iPhone turned to lowest possible volume.

To solve the issue simply adjust the volume of both your headphones connected via blue tooth down, and your volume of your iPhone up so that they are near the middle level, then you can adjust the volume with either device to get the desired volume for your listening pleasure.

The beep indicates the iPhone is trying to adjust the volume level between songs, and is set too low. This is why raising the volume on the iPhone fixes the problem, but you also need to adjust the volume on your headphones lower. Or you are going to blast out your ear drums!

I have been very frustrated with this, glad other folks have seen this too.

Apple Support seems to think it’s the headphone manufactures product causing the issue. But I have tried three separate headsets all with the same beeps between songs.

Today I tried CesarJazzFusions method and seems to work (for now). Can only use the headset to adjust volume...

If Apple is reading this, please address this issue. Can’t imagine volume control is a “nice to have” considering today’s status quo with technology. Also because you selected to offer you devices without a headphone jack (really?)

Thanks,

I believe the "beeps" are being caused by the file type being used for your music files when you synch your device.

When you attach your device to your computer to synch it, in the left side panel under "Settings" there is an option at the top called "Summary". When you click "Summary", a page opens up. There is a pane for "Backups", and under that there is a pane for "Options" In the options pane, you can check a box that says "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC. (I believe AAC is an Apple audio format.) I checked that box, and that is when I started hearing the beeps between tracks on my blue-tooth headphones. So I went back in and unchecked the box and re-synched my device, and the beeps stopped.

My iPod Touch 6 (12.1.4) makes beeps between songs on my bathroom cabinet Diamond X K401 rgbaud too. Thanks to AppleCare I am in touch with Apple for more than half a year. The device was even sent to Apple - no success. None of the workarounds in this thread solved the problem.

I tried several music apps, always beeps. But now I found an app that solved my Problem: VOX – MP3 & FLAC Music Player. The free version will do. No more beeps and much nicer and more features than the stock player. I am happy again!
