After changing to High Sierra, and getting Final Cut 10 4 2 , I can't import any videos from my Sony HDR PJ 810. It reads the videos, but can't import them. Neither does it work with Imovie. Any ideas?

Problem solved - I reinstalled High Sierra, taking the newest version (.5) and now all works well. Thanks for your help!
Not very informative message is it. Let’s broaden it. You’re importing directly from the camera? Try a different cable? Where is the library stored? External drive? How is everything connected and formatted?
This is FCP 10.4.2 with macOS 10.13.5?
Also are you optimizing and/or making proxies?
I create a event on Final Cut and try to import videos from the camera, as usual. The videos appear, but then I get a message of error - the import failed. Every single time, for different videos, the same thing. It started after I upgraded to High Sierra.

Import direct from camera. Final Cut reads the videos (they appear on Final Cut, though not imported), so the cable does not seem to be the issue (and I imported videos with the same cable just before getting High Sierra). The library is on the computer's hd. I optimize the videos. And it is Final Cut 10.4.2 with OS 10.13.4. I didn't know there was a .5, will get it and see if there is an improvement...
What exactly are you doing and what happens when you do it?
