How do I remove search.qip.ru?

My Imac has been infected with malware entitled "search.qip.ru." It affects searches in Firefox and prevents me from doing a Google search but instead takes me to a search engine that is Qip.ng or something like that. Apparently it is Russian in origin.

I've tried Norton and Malwarebytes software programs, but to no avail. There is a Spyware program but it does not work in the Mac environment. Is there a software fix that a newbie like me can install and run? Thanks.
